Every journey is different, but most Adventure the World Travels clients invest $8,000 or more in their vacation, excluding airfare, with many customized journeys ranging from $10,000 to $15,000+. Disney and Universal VIP-level experiences typically begin at $10,000, excluding airfare.

Most cruise and packaged vacation bookings do not require a separate professional planning fee. For complex, highly customized itineraries, a Trip Design Fee may apply. Any applicable fee and scope of service will always be discussed before planning begins.

How does working with a travel advisor actually work?

It starts with a relaxed discovery call about who's going, where you're dreaming, and what you'd rather not think about. From there, I send back a tailored itinerary, routes, ships, hotels, pacing, with room for revisions. Once you approve the plan, I coordinate the details, prepare you for what comes next, and remain available throughout your journey. You get one trusted advisor from the first conversation until you're home, not a series of disconnected bookings.

Most of my income comes from commissions paid by travel suppliers, cruise lines, tour operators, and hotels, when I book with them. This doesn't add anything to what you pay; you're typically charged the same rate you'd find booking directly, sometimes better. For itineraries that need substantial custom research or complex multi-destination logistics, I also charge a separate planning fee, which I'll always explain and agree on with you before any work begins. Either way, you'll know exactly what you're paying for and why.

Booking online can absolutely work for simple, single-piece trips. But a confirmed reservation only tells you something was booked, not that it was the right choice, that the timing works, or that all the pieces actually fit together. My value isn't clicking the booking button for you, it's making sure you're booking the right trip, and that everything connects the way it should.

I don't typically handle standalone airfare-only bookings, since those work better through a straightforward online booking tool.

It depends on what you want to see. Late May through early June tends to have longer daylight and fewer crowds. July offers the warmest weather and peak wildlife activity. September brings fall colors and the start of aurora season in some regions. The right window depends on your priorities, not a single "best" month.

Seattle feels like the obvious, convenient choice, but it isn't automatically the right one. Vancouver can open up Inside Passage routing and better one-way land-combination options. The point isn't that Seattle is wrong, it's that the decision should come after you understand what each port gains or gives up, not before.
