Ocean Cruising

The morning the glacier calved.
We were three days into a repositioning cruise when the captain slowed the ship near Sawyer Glacier. I stood at the rail in my green beanie and watched a chunk the size of a building drop into the water. Nobody on deck said a word for a full minute.
